Oil Product Processing Specialist

Overview

We are currently seeking an Oil Product Processing Specialist who will be responsible for the extraction, blending, diluting and packaging of medical cannabis oil, as well as completing all required documentation. This includes, but is not limited to:

• Preparing and operating extraction machinery;
• Blending bulk cannabis oils to produce a finished oil dilution;
• Working with the Quality Assurance team to submit samples for analysis;
• Entering production and analysis data into an oil production database, and ensuring said database is accurate and updated at all times;
• Cleaning and maintaining equipment, utensils and facilities used in the process;
• Adhering to safe and sanitary working procedures and practices at all times;
• Assisting the Dry Product processing team as required.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate holds a diploma in science and experience working in a laboratory environment since this position requires strong attention to detail and strict adherence to written Standards Operating Procedure. Organization skills, demonstrated record keeping abilities and proficiency with MS Office are essential. An understanding of Health Canada’s Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) is an asset. Graphic Designer

Overview

We are currently seeking a Graphic Designer to join our expanding team. Reporting to the Marketing Manager, the incumbent will develop print and digital marketing material, play an active role in ensuring Hydropothecary’s presence on multiple social media platforms, and participate in the execution of various campaigns. Although reporting to the Marketing Manager, the incumbent will be expected to work closely and liaise with our Business Development team and Communications experts.

Among other things, the Graphic Designer will be expected to:

• Assist in the development, review and update of all marketing materials (print and digital), ensuring branding guidelines are respected at every level;
• Participate in the development and execution of a Social Media Strategy and generate required imagery for social media,
• Liaise with service providers, including agencies, art services, printers, etc. to ensure completion of mandates and projects within established timelines;
• Assist the Marketing Manager in the development and execution of various other marketing campaigns and activities.

Qualifications

• A diploma in graphic design or other related field (as well as a portfolio) is required;
• In-depth knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator (other program knowledge would be considered an asset);
• In-depth knowledge of Social Media platforms is an important asset;
• Demonstrated ability to develop creative concepts and visual design to meet business objectives;
• Experience in conceptualizing and/or creating video content is an important asset;

Cleaning Specialist

Overview

We are currently seeking a Cleaning Specialist who will report to the Facilities and Security Manager. The Cleaning Specialist will work closely with other Facilities staff to ensure that office spaces, shared spaces and production areas are cleaned in accordance with Standards Operating Procedures and Health Canada requirements. This includes, but is not limited to:

• Clean various workspaces in accordance with the pre-established schedule.
• Ensure cleaning of offices spaces: sweep and mop floors, dust furniture, vacuum carpeting and upholstered furniture.
• Clean and disinfect public areas such as lunchrooms and washrooms.
• Empty Trash containers and recycling bins.
• Periodically wash windows and walls.
• Clean walkways, hallways, walls and/or counters in the Production area in accordance with SOP and ACMPR requirements. This includes greenhouses, laboratories and other secured areas.

Qualifications

• Experience in industrial and/or commercial cleaning is an asset.
• Bilingualism is an asset.
• Demonstrated work ethic, attention to detail and ability to follow strict SOP is required.

Dried Product Personnel

Overview

The Dried Product Personnel must:

• Be able to work in a clean and efficient manner.
• Be capable of performing repetitive tasks and manual labour.
• Work with close attention to detail and care for the product and processes.

• Demonstrate problem solving skills.
• Be able to keep organized records proficiently using Microsoft Office.
• Under the supervision of the Dried Product Processing Team Lead or his/her assigned alternate, the Dried Product Personnel will be responsible for executing the following tasks:

• Milling, decarboxylation, and packaging of dried product.
• Organizing storage spaces for dried product.
• Clean and sanitize all equipment used in processing of dried product.
• Keep records of all processes and report these to senior staff members.
• In addition to their primary tasks, Dried Product Personnel may aid the Harvest Team or the Oil Processing team as required.

All Dried Product Personnel must understand and follow all regulations, guidelines, and company policies pertaining to safety, security, and handling of product. They must read, understand, and adhere to all standard operating procedures pertaining to the work they have been assigned.

Dried Product Personnel must be able to work effectively with others and understand their role within a team setting. They are expected to communicate with other members of staff in a respectful and civil way.

Dried Product Personnel must be punctual and reliable in their attendance and flexible to work evenings and weekends should production require.

Dried Product Personnel are responsible for keeping clean records of day to day activities. They are to report any problems to the Dried Product Processing Team Lead or his/her assigned alternate as soon as possible; including errors, deviations from SOP, inaccuracies in record keeping, injury, and equipment failures.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate has a High school diploma required, post secondary is an asset.

Site Supervisor

6 month contract

Overview

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Supervising sub-contractors by locating, monitoring and controlling site access;
• Preventing fines and interruptions by complying with, and enforcing, codes. Developing effective communication between field and other project staff;
• Receiving and directs shipments and deliveries to the job site;
• Maintaining quality control procedures as directed by the site service managers;

Quality Assurance Specialist

Overview

Reporting to the Director of Product Innovation, the Business Analyst, Innovation will be responsible for supporting the development of new products through internal development, licensing, and acquisition to help build out a suite of products for both the recreational and medical divisions of the organization. This will involve performing research, accumulating data, and building the business case to support each new potential product as it works its way through the innovation process. This position will be instrumental in helping HEXO establish itself as a brands company while building on its existing reputation for innovation.

Main Responsibilities

• Supporting the Director of Product Innovation in generating innovative products in line with pre-established organizational objectives set out by the Leadership Team.
• Support the build out of our existing product innovation roadmap for both the recreational and medical divisions of the company.
• Use existing project management framework to move potential new products through the innovation process and keep all stakeholders engaged throughout the process.
• Work closely with Marketing, Operations, Sales, Finance and R&D to qualify new product opportunities through the preparation of a business case supporting decisions.
• Maintain internal database of all on-going innovation projects and status along the innovation process.
• Help to facilitate the hand off of market ready products to Product Manager for product launch.
• Assess trends and changes in the competitive environment to mitigate risks and support position as market leader in innovation products.

Packaging Specialist – Night Shift

Overview

We are currently seeking Prepack Specialists who will be responsible for ensuring a good production flow in order to fulfill orders and market demand. The Prepack Specialist functions includes, but is not limited to:

• Ensure quality control;
• General maintenance of equipment and materials;
• Clean and prepare containers for filling;
• Load materials and products into package processing equipment;
• Stack and pile goods into containers;
• Prepare goods for shipment;
• Monitor & operate multiple equipment for filling, sealing, capping & labelling;
• Record product, packaging, and order information on specified forms and records;
• Audits of stock level, expiry date checking and prepack log;
• Maintain detailed and accurate work flow;
• Provide assistance in areas appointed by direct supervisor;

Qualifications

The ideal candidate holds a minimum of experience working on a production chain. Also, as Packaging Specialist it is your responsibility to maintain productivity so that production goals can be achieved. Must be able to safely and carefully operate and use assigned equipment and machinery. Attention to details. Attendance is key to success. Overtime may be required and/or expected.

Health, Safety and Environment Coordinator

Overview

The HSE Coordinator will be responsible for supporting and facilitating the implementation of environment, health and safety programs designed to assure compliance with corporate and regulatory requirements specific to each of Hexo’s locations.

• Integrated Quality Management System in accordance with ISO standards.
• Assist in the development, implementation and on-going maintenance of an ISO-compliant Quality Management Program;
• Identify existing/potential hazards, suggest elimination/mitigation strategies and, upon approval, implement corrective measures;
• Develop and implement specific Workplace Health and Safety Programs;
• Promote a culture of safety and prevention: educate employees on workplace/environmental hazards, corporate policies and regulatory requirements;
• Liaise with the Corporate Social Responsibility team on environmental priorities, concerns and/or programs;

• Facilitate/coordinate training of internal teams on policies, procedures or Environmental, Occupational Health and Safety matters;

Qualifications

• University degree in environmental sciences, engineering, human resources or other related field is required;

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Occupational Health and Safety, preferably within a manufacturing environment;

Production Planner

Overview

• Plan and coordinate all production activities;
• Prepare production planning and evaluate needs and capacity

• Draft, edit and monitor Operations Budget;

Maintenance Supervisor

Overview

We are currently seeking a Maintenance Supervisor who will report to the Director of Facilities and Security. The Facilities Supervisor will oversee our facilities team to ensure the overall upkeep of our installations, maintain production equipment and ensure a safe work environment.

This includes, but is not limited to:

• Supervise a team of Facilities Specialists, including hiring, directing, training, and scheduling;
• Prioritize, dispatch and ensure completion of requests to repair or replace fixtures and/or equipment. The incumbent will be expected to take part in projects such as installing or moving furniture and equipment, drywall repair and painting, minor repairs to heating, cooling, ventilating, plumbing and electrical systems.
• Participate in the development of a maintenance schedule and ensure preventative maintenance of equipment such as HVAC systems, production machinery and building components.
• Liaise with licensed service providers as required for specific maintenance or installation projects and ensure completion of work in accordance with industry and regulatory standards.
• Conduct workplace inspections to ensure all equipment and workspaces are safe and up to Code, identify and eliminate (whenever possible) Occupational Health and Safety risks.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate holds a professional diploma in facility management or technical degree pertaining to HVAC systems, mechanical maintenance or other related field, combined with a minimum of 10 years’ relevant experience in an industrial or commercial setting. Basic skills in carpentry, electricity and plumbing are major assets. Forklift certification is also an asset. Candidates must demonstrate strong problem-solving, organizational and leadership skills. Bilingualism is required.

Packaging Manager

Overview

We are currently seeking a Secondary Packaging Manager who will report to the Vice-President of Operations. The Secondary Packaging Manager manages and oversees the secondary packaging process on multiple shifts to achieve operational objectives. Secondary packaging includes label printing, label application and bulk packaging. This includes, but is not limited to:

• Observes, analyzes, and researches secondary packaging line operation to develop and implement efficient processes;
• Implement quality control check to ensure that environmental, health, and safety regulations are met;
• Coordinates schedules, provides training and direction to staff and ensure proper equipment function and efficient processing;

• Analyzes the plant’s operating results for raw materials and various other operating expenses, ensure the accuracy of data and reports, develop performance indicators and make recommendations;
• Support operations in reviewing, analyzing and reporting on inventory valuation, inventory transactions, direct and indirect labor, direct material and subcontract costs, and other overhead costs incurred;
• Investigate and correct any discrepancies;
• Prepare weekly/monthly reporting of actual production costs vs standard costs to support company goals;
• Prepares forecasts, analyzes variances and makes recommendations;

Horticulture Technician

Qualifications

• Assist skilled workers, such as carpenters, bricklayers, cement finishers, roofers and glaziers, in the performance of their respective work
• Assist heavy equipment operators in securing special fasteners to machinery or by guiding drivers when moving machinery or performing other work
• Help align pipes or perform related work during construction
• Level the ground according to the specified slope using rakes and shovels

Director of Capital Projects

Overview

We are currently seeking a Director of Capital Projects. Reporting to the Chief Manufacturing Officer, the Director of Capital Projects is responsible for the planning, execution, delivery of and reporting on capital projects (both new construction and amendments to existing facilities) – ensuring projects are delivered on time and on budget, in compliance with project specifications and business requirements. The incumbent engages senior executives, internal clients and other stakeholders in capital projects, especially mission-critical projects. Overview

• Creating and processing of ROES

Intermediate Accountant – Belleville

Overview

Reporting to the Costing Manager, the Intermediate Accountant will support and oversee the cost accounting of HEXO products and transformation process in addition to manage the accounts payable function for the plant.

Overview

We are currently seeking an Intermediate Accountant to join our Financial Controls’ team. Reporting to the Controller, the Accountant will support all finance department activities: accounts receivable, accounts payable, month/year end routines and financial reporting.

Maintenance Manager – Belleville

Overview

We are currently seeking a Maintenance Manager who will report to the Director, Facilities and Security. The Maintenance Manager will oversee our facilities team to ensure the overall upkeep of our installations, maintain production equipment and ensure a safe work environment.

• Prioritize, dispatch and ensure completion of requests to repair or replace fixtures and/or equipment. The incumbent will be expected to take part in projects such as installing or moving furniture and equipment, drywall repair and painting, minor repairs to heating, cooling, ventilating, plumbing and electrical systems.
• Participate in the development of a maintenance schedule and ensure preventative maintenance of equipment such as HVAC systems, production machinery and building components.
• Liaise with licensed service providers as required for specific maintenance or installation projects and ensure completion of work in accordance with industry and regulatory standards.
• Manage facilities department staff, ensuring that all maintenance and repair work is assigned and completed to meet all applicable standards and regulations.
• Conduct workplace inspections to ensure all equipment and workspaces are safe and up to Code, identify and eliminate (whenever possible) Occupational Health and Safety risks.
• Oversee grounds keeping, including landscaping (i.e. grass cutting), snow removal and trash removal. • Act as main point of contact for other internal teams, such as those involved in security, cultivation, production and human resources.

Qualifications

• The ideal candidate holds a professional diploma in facility management or technical degree pertaining to HVAC systems, mechanical maintenance or other related field, combined with a minimum of 5 years’
relevant experience in an industrial or commercial setting. Basic skills in carpentry, electricity and plumbing are major assets.
• Forklift certification is also an asset.

Tax Manager – Belleville/Montreal/Gatineau

Overview

The Tax Manager will be responsible for tax matters including income, value-added, excise and withholding taxes. The Manager leads the day-to-day operations of these tax functions to meet the Company’s related accounting and compliance obligations and to minimize liabilities. The Tax Manager will provide tax planning and structure support, coordinate international aspects of consolidated income tax provision and Canadian tax reporting, and support tax efficient international expansion. The Tax Manager will be based preferably in Gatineau, QC but potentially in Montreal or Belleville, ON and will report to the Vice President of Finance.

• Analyze and assist with the implementation of tax planning strategies and management of existing structures
• Coordinate and manage tax compliance, research and planning with external advisors including; income, value-added and withholding taxes
• Prepare and review tax accruals, budgets and forecasts
• Advise on international tax aspects of business expansion, including entering into new markets and cross-border transactions involving multiple tax jurisdictions
• Partner with business leaders, tax, finance, treasury, legal, and external advisers on various business and tax planning matters including global funding decisions, new legal entities’ ownership structures, mergers, acquisitions, reorganizations, and divestments

Licensing Coordinator – Gatineau

Overview

We are currently seeking a Licensing Coordinator who will help coordinate HEXO’s licence applications to ensure they are prepared and submitted in accordance with established policies, rules and regulations, bylaws and regulatory governmental standards. Reporting to the Licensing and Privacy Manager and as part of the Regulatory Affairs Team, this individual will work closely with several internal departments to prepare applications for new licences and for the corporation’s already licensed activities while remaining in compliance with applicable legislation.

• Work in conjunction with varied departments to compile information, and prepare and compile the necessary forms, documents and information required to licence new sites and activities as well as to maintain current site(s) and activities licensed.
• Track daily progress of licence applications.
• Maintain a working knowledge of laws and regulations applicable to licensing and to our licensed activities.
• Assist in managing and maintaining existing licences using a web-based licensing system.
• Identify significant compliance risks and escalate appropriately.
• Monitor and assist designated personnel in their security clearance applications.

Assistant Grower – Masson Angers

Overview

We are currently looking for Assistant Growers. These are full time, permanent roles.

Under the supervision of the Master Grower, the Assistant Grower will execute the following tasks related to production:

• will maintain and renew mother plants
• will assist in cloning and germination of new plants
• will efficiently transplant the plants into desired pots
• will maintain plants in flowering
• will effectively scout for insects and diseases
• will assist in necessary treatments (application of predators, sprays)
• will be able to follow and supervise work orders provided by the Master Grower
• will supervise and help with harvesting activities when needed (trimming, drying, etc.)
• will be able to effectively keep track of inventory of growing plants and work with ICS
• will be detail oriented and correctly fill out all forms connected to his/her work

Including all of the above-mentioned tasks, the Assistant Grower will know and follow all sanitation regulations, as well as, security regulations in all their performed tasks.
