Oil Product Processing Specialist

Overview

We are currently seeking an Oil Product Processing Specialist who will be responsible for the extraction, blending, diluting and packaging of medical cannabis oil, as well as completing all required documentation. This includes, but is not limited to:

• Preparing and operating extraction machinery;
• Blending bulk cannabis oils to produce a finished oil dilution;
• Working with the Quality Assurance team to submit samples for analysis;
• Entering production and analysis data into an oil production database, and ensuring said database is accurate and updated at all times;
• Cleaning and maintaining equipment, utensils and facilities used in the process;

Qualifications

Graphic Designer

Overview

We are currently seeking a Graphic Designer to join our expanding team. Reporting to the Marketing Manager, the incumbent will develop print and digital marketing material, play an active role in ensuring Hydropothecary’s presence on multiple social media platforms, and participate in the execution of various campaigns. Although reporting to the Marketing Manager, the incumbent will be expected to work closely and liaise with our Business Development team and Communications experts.

Among other things, the Graphic Designer will be expected to:

• Assist in the development, review and update of all marketing materials (print and digital), ensuring branding guidelines are respected at every level;
• Participate in the development and execution of a Social Media Strategy and generate required imagery for social media,
• Liaise with service providers, including agencies, art services, printers, etc. to ensure completion of mandates and projects within established timelines;
• Assist the Marketing Manager in the development and execution of various other marketing campaigns and activities.

Qualifications

• A diploma in graphic design or other related field (as well as a portfolio) is required;
• In-depth knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator (other program knowledge would be considered an asset);
• In-depth knowledge of Social Media platforms is an important asset;

Cleaning Specialist

Overview

We are currently seeking a Cleaning Specialist who will report to the Facilities and Security Manager. The Cleaning Specialist will work closely with other Facilities staff to ensure that office spaces, shared spaces and production areas are cleaned in accordance with Standards Operating Procedures and Health Canada requirements. This includes, but is not limited to:

• Clean various workspaces in accordance with the pre-established schedule.
• Ensure cleaning of offices spaces: sweep and mop floors, dust furniture, vacuum carpeting and upholstered furniture.
• Clean and disinfect public areas such as lunchrooms and washrooms.
• Empty Trash containers and recycling bins.
• Periodically wash windows and walls.
• Clean walkways, hallways, walls and/or counters in the Production area in accordance with SOP and ACMPR requirements. This includes greenhouses, laboratories and other secured areas.

Qualifications

• Experience in industrial and/or commercial cleaning is an asset.
• Bilingualism is an asset.

Dried Product Personnel

Overview

The Dried Product Personnel must:

• Be able to work in a clean and efficient manner.
• Be capable of performing repetitive tasks and manual labour.
• Work with close attention to detail and care for the product and processes.

• Milling, decarboxylation, and packaging of dried product.
• Organizing storage spaces for dried product.
• Clean and sanitize all equipment used in processing of dried product.
• Keep records of all processes and report these to senior staff members.
• In addition to their primary tasks, Dried Product Personnel may aid the Harvest Team or the Oil Processing team as required.

All Dried Product Personnel must understand and follow all regulations, guidelines, and company policies pertaining to safety, security, and handling of product. They must read, understand, and adhere to all standard operating procedures pertaining to the work they have been assigned.

Dried Product Personnel must be able to work effectively with others and understand their role within a team setting. They are expected to communicate with other members of staff in a respectful and civil way.

Dried Product Personnel must be punctual and reliable in their attendance and flexible to work evenings and weekends should production require.

Dried Product Personnel are responsible for keeping clean records of day to day activities. They are to report any problems to the Dried Product Processing Team Lead or his/her assigned alternate as soon as possible; including errors, deviations from SOP, inaccuracies in record keeping, injury, and equipment failures.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate has a High school diploma required, post secondary is an asset.

Quality Assurance Specialist

Overview

Reporting to the Director of Product Innovation, the Business Analyst, Innovation will be responsible for supporting the development of new products through internal development, licensing, and acquisition to help build out a suite of products for both the recreational and medical divisions of the organization. This will involve performing research, accumulating data, and building the business case to support each new potential product as it works its way through the innovation process. This position will be instrumental in helping HEXO establish itself as a brands company while building on its existing reputation for innovation.

Main Responsibilities

• Supporting the Director of Product Innovation in generating innovative products in line with pre-established organizational objectives set out by the Leadership Team.
• Support the build out of our existing product innovation roadmap for both the recreational and medical divisions of the company.
• Use existing project management framework to move potential new products through the innovation process and keep all stakeholders engaged throughout the process.
• Work closely with Marketing, Operations, Sales, Finance and R&D to qualify new product opportunities through the preparation of a business case supporting decisions.
• Maintain internal database of all on-going innovation projects and status along the innovation process.

Production Planner

Overview

• Plan and coordinate all production activities;

Facilities Maintenance Supervisor

Overview

We are currently seeking a Maintenance Supervisor who will report to the Director of Facilities and Security. The Facilities Supervisor will oversee our facilities team to ensure the overall upkeep of our installations, maintain production equipment and ensure a safe work environment.

This includes, but is not limited to:

• Supervise a team of Facilities Specialists, including hiring, directing, training, and scheduling;
• Prioritize, dispatch and ensure completion of requests to repair or replace fixtures and/or equipment. The incumbent will be expected to take part in projects such as installing or moving furniture and equipment, drywall repair and painting, minor repairs to heating, cooling, ventilating, plumbing and electrical systems.
• Participate in the development of a maintenance schedule and ensure preventative maintenance of equipment such as HVAC systems, production machinery and building components.
• Liaise with licensed service providers as required for specific maintenance or installation projects and ensure completion of work in accordance with industry and regulatory standards.
• Conduct workplace inspections to ensure all equipment and workspaces are safe and up to Code, identify and eliminate (whenever possible) Occupational Health and Safety risks.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate holds a professional diploma in facility management or technical degree pertaining to HVAC systems, mechanical maintenance or other related field, combined with a minimum of five (5) + years’ relevant experience in an industrial or commercial setting. Basic skills in carpentry, electricity and plumbing are major assets. Forklift certification is also an asset. Candidates must demonstrate strong problem-solving, organizational and leadership skills. Bilingualism is required.

Senior Cost Accountant

• Analyzes the plant’s operating results for raw materials and various other operating expenses, ensure the accuracy of data and reports, develop performance indicators and make recommendations;
• Support operations in reviewing, analyzing and reporting on inventory valuation, inventory transactions, direct and indirect labor, direct material and subcontract costs, and other overhead costs incurred;
• Investigate and correct any discrepancies;
• Prepare weekly/monthly reporting of actual production costs vs standard costs to support company goals;
• Prepares forecasts, analyzes variances and makes recommendations;
• Participate in inventory counts, reviewing physical adjustments and requesting recounts as needed;
• Prepare cost estimates for new products and product pre-stages, as well as cost saving initiatives using inputs from R&D, • • • Operations and Marketing.

Horticulture Technician

• Place plants in the designated places, on tables, or shelves, while respecting the flowering cycle;

Qualifications

Human Resources Business Partner

Overview

Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, the HRBP will contribute to strategic discussions and decision-making with assigned internal client groups. The incumbent is expected to provide ideas and challenge management, thus acting as a catalyst for change and continuous improvement.

This role will be involved in the development and implementation Human Resources programs and policies, advise employees and leaders at all levels on HR-related matters and support recruitment efforts as HEXO continues its rapid expansion.

• Advise clients on people issues and act as the expert on people challenges, in accordance with established guidelines pertaining to talent management, performance challenges, struggles with organizational change and more.
• Provide on-going support and coaching to managers and employees: respond to queries, advise on internal policies, ensure compliance with employment standards and best practices, advise on the resolution of employee relations matters;
• Collaborate with other HRBPs, ensuring alignment on corporate strategies and philosophy, as well as the provision of a seamless service;
• Provide insight to HR’s Center of Excellence, participate in the development and implementation various programs and policies, ensuring they are aligned with the needs of the company as a whole, while allowing flexibility to meet the needs of specific client groups;

Director of Capital Projects

Overview

We are currently seeking a Director of Capital Projects. Reporting to the Chief Manufacturing Officer, the Director of Capital Projects is responsible for the planning, execution, delivery of and reporting on capital projects (both new construction and amendments to existing facilities) – ensuring projects are delivered on time and on budget, in compliance with project specifications and business requirements. The incumbent engages senior executives, internal clients and other stakeholders in capital projects, especially mission-critical projects. Though the focus will be our Belleville facility, the incumbent may oversee projects in alternate locations.

• Liaise with Management to identify capital planning needs and priorities, including new builds and amendments to existing facilities;
• Plan and oversee the end-to-end delivery of assigned projects. Develop and implement project plans;
• Determine resource and budget requirements, cost estimates and timelines;
• Source third-party service providers/partners, negotiate contracts and ensure satisfactory execution of contractual agreements;

Overview

The Tax Manager will be responsible for tax matters including income, value-added, excise and withholding taxes. The Manager leads the day-to-day operations of these tax functions to meet the Company’s related accounting and compliance obligations and to minimize liabilities. The Tax Manager will provide tax planning and structure support, coordinate international aspects of consolidated income tax provision and Canadian tax reporting, and support tax efficient international expansion. Overview

Manager, Dried Product Processing - Belleville

Overview

Reporting to the Director of Processing, the Dried Product Processing Manager is responsible for all milling, decarboxylation, product preparation and pre roll production of dried product required to fill Purchase Orders for Dried Product. They will also be responsible for all dry product processing of material that is needed to fulfill any SKU that requires dried product input. This includes, but is not limited to; sublingual spray, massage oils, topicals, concentrates, cannabis beverages and edibles.

• Maintain dried product production schedule in conjunction with Production Planner, Harvest, Oil Processing, Logistics, Packaging and Sales.

Overview

Reporting to the Director of Processing, the Oil Product Processing Manager is responsible for all extraction, dewaxxing, formulation and some primary packaging of oil products to fill Purchase Orders for Oil Product. They will also be responsible for all oil product processing of material that is needed to fulfill any other SKU that requires Oil product input. This includes, but is not limited to; sublingual spray, massage oils, topicals, concentrates, cannabis beverages and edibles.

Supervisor, Harvest Debudding

Overview

Harvest/Debudding Supervisor is responsible for teams allocated to the Defanning, Harvest and
Debudding of cannabis material.

• The role will require communication with Personnel, Specialists and Team Leads to ensure production efficiency and product quality. Daily mentorship of leadership roles within the defanning, harvest and debudding processes.
• The Supervisor will also be expected to communicate with outside consultants and suppliers, as well as other internal departments. Production or manufacturing experience is critical for meeting deadlines – both long term and last minute additions.

In order to meet these deadlines, which will be typically dictated by the varying stages ofreadiness observed in our batches, the Harvest/Debudding Supervisor will need to make decisions including but not limited to:

• harvest forecasts and subsequent labour requirements;
• labour allocation to specific processes based off of differing batch requirements;
• real time and fast paced problem solving to remedy operational bottlenecks and production backlogs; timely requisition of additional labour to fulfill predicted, but larger than normal workloads;
• tailoring of processes to meet the quality standards set forth by the Harvest Manager

This work will be done in a fast paced environment with many workers present, and automated PLCs working continuously. Time will be split between office work and on the floor supervision within the environmentally controlled production/processing space.

Harvest Team Lead

Overview

We are currently seeking Harvest Team Leads who will be responsible for the following:

• Ensure all daily Harvest production plans are complete with production metrics and compliance information.
• Contribute to Harvest production by ensuring teams adhere to systems, policies, and procedures.
• Communicate with the outside departments in order to organize day to day operations.
• Maintain work flow for Defanning, Harvest, Drying/Curing or Trimming by monitoring each step of the process and participating as required.
• Observe production control points and equipment, as well as monitor personnel and resources to assure quality standards are met.
• Daily implementation of cost reductions and develop reporting procedures and systems.
• Facilitate corrections to malfunctions within the production process.
• Maintain quality control by observing organizational standards and working closely with the Quality Assurance team.
• Provide production information by compiling, sorting, and analyzing production performance records and data; answer questions and respond to information requests.
• Maintain a safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources; maintain compliance with established policies and procedures.

• Promote and ensure that safe working procedures and practices are always adhered to i.e. Health and Safety, PPE, dress code requirements.

Qualifications

Supervisor, Harvest Debudding

Overview

Harvest/Debudding Supervisor is responsible for teams allocated to the Defanning, Harvest and
Debudding of cannabis material.

• The role will require communication with Personnel, Specialists and Team Leads to ensure production efficiency and product quality. Daily mentorship of leadership roles within the defanning, harvest and debudding processes.
• The Supervisor will also be expected to communicate with outside consultants and suppliers, as well as other internal departments. Production or manufacturing experience is critical for meeting deadlines – both long term and last minute additions.

In order to meet these deadlines, which will be typically dictated by the varying stages ofreadiness observed in our batches, the Harvest/Debudding Supervisor will need to make decisions including but not limited to:

• harvest forecasts and subsequent labour requirements;
• labour allocation to specific processes based off of differing batch requirements;
• real time and fast paced problem solving to remedy operational bottlenecks and production backlogs; timely requisition of additional labour to fulfill predicted, but larger than normal workloads;
• tailoring of processes to meet the quality standards set forth by the Harvest Manager

This work will be done in a fast paced environment with many workers present, and automated PLCs working continuously. Time will be split between office work and on the floor supervision within the environmentally controlled production/processing space.

Senior Accountant

Overview

The Senior Accountant will support all finance department activities: accounts receivable, accounts payable, month/year end routines and financial reporting.

• Maintain general ledger balance sheet accounts by reconciling accounts details and control accounts;
• Identify, investigate, analyze and report on account variances;
• Manage internal controls over financial reporting (COSO and COSIT);
• Manage internal controls over processes and quality;
• Assist as an expert in the Compliance department;
• Adjust general ledger balances by posting and/or adjusting journal entries and prepare monthly working papers;
• Monitor the general ledger for accuracy and effectiveness;
• Adhere to and promote accounting controls by following policies and procedures, complying with federal, provincial, and local financial legal requirements;

Qualifications

• A degree in accounting, combined with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in various accounting roles/functions.
• An accounting designation is required (CPA, CA, CGA, CMA).
• Knowledge of ICFR (NI 52-109).
• Knowledge of SOX Compliance.
• He/she must demonstrate a commitment to excellence and attention to detail, delivering accurate information and balanced analysis in a consistent and timely manner.

Project Manager

Overview

As a member of HEXO’s high performing Innovation team, you will be responsible to support the management of innovative product development initiatives and be able to drive the completion of individual development projects. Reporting to the Director of HEXO’s Innovation Management team, the Project Manager will ensure that projects are moved through our product innovation pipeline, from ideation through to go-to-market launch, using sound project management practices and principles. Based in our Gatineau facility, you will provide technical and project management expertise into HEXO’s Innovation Management function.

• Developing robust, detailed project plans for new product development projects, including tasks (WBS), resources, schedule, budget, identifying project goals, and setting the project’s timeline.
• Collaborating with various stakeholders within the organization (e.g. Marketing, Sales, Operations, Regulatory Affairs, R&D, Product Management, Product Development, etc.) and third parties, holding meetings to develop project plans and monitor project progress to ensure they remain on track, meet deadlines and stay within budget.
• Developing meeting agendas, leading meetings and preparing succinct and comprehensive minutes with action items to be promptly distributed to relevant project stakeholders.
• Reporting on the progress of product development projects to stakeholders.

Project and Procurement Administrator - Hull

Overview

Reporting to the Director, Enterprise Project Office, the IS Project and Procurement Administrator supports team members in all aspects of IS project organization and vendor coordination. The administrator facilitates project planning and delivery of major information services projects, including facilitating vendor relationships between HEXO and its technology suppliers.

• Working closely with project teams and stakeholders, plans, schedules, tracks, documents, and reports on active projects, and communicates progress both internally and externally.
• Ensures that document management practices and tools are in place to support projects and procurement.
• Performs quality checks and document control to ensure project and procurement management standards are being met.
• Working with IS leadership, establishes standards and guidelines for projects and procurement, monitoring to ensure these policies are being followed.

• Working with project teams and internal clients, researches vendors to find the best products and prices available within a given segment.
