Oil Product Processing Specialist

Overview

We are currently seeking an Oil Product Processing Specialist who will be responsible for the extraction, blending, diluting and packaging of medical cannabis oil, as well as completing all required documentation. This includes, but is not limited to:

Preparing and operating extraction machinery;
Blending bulk cannabis oils to produce a finished oil dilution;
Working with the Quality Assurance team to submit samples for analysis;
Entering production and analysis data into an oil production database, and ensuring said database is accurate and updated at all times;
Cleaning and maintaining equipment, utensils and facilities used in the process;
Adhering to safe and sanitary working procedures and practices at all times;
Assisting the Dry Product processing team as required.

Qualifications

Market Analyst

Overview

We are currently seeking a Market Analyst to join our Product Innovation and Management Team. The position is based at our facility located in Gatineau, Quebec. This is a permanent, full-time position which offers excellent benefits.

Reporting to the Product Manager (who will oversee the Product Innovation and Management Team), the Market Analyst gathers data through primary and secondary research and turns it into meaningful insights for the company to make data driven decisions on product planning and corporate initiatives.

Graphic Designer

Overview

We are currently seeking a Graphic Designer to join our expanding team. Reporting to the Marketing Manager, the incumbent will develop print and digital marketing material, play an active role in ensuring Hydropothecary’s presence on multiple social media platforms, and participate in the execution of various campaigns. Although reporting to the Marketing Manager, the incumbent will be expected to work closely and liaise with our Business Development team and Communications experts.

Among other things, the Graphic Designer will be expected to:

Assist in the development, review and update of all marketing materials (print and digital), ensuring branding guidelines are respected at every level;
Participate in the development and execution of a Social Media Strategy and generate required imagery for social media,
Liaise with service providers, including agencies, art services, printers, etc. to ensure completion of mandates and projects within established timelines;

Qualifications

Cleaning Specialist

Overview

We are currently seeking a Cleaning Specialist who will report to the Facilities and Security Manager. The Cleaning Specialist will work closely with other Facilities staff to ensure that office spaces, shared spaces and production areas are cleaned in accordance with Standards Operating Procedures and Health Canada requirements. This includes, but is not limited to:

Clean various workspaces in accordance with the pre-established schedule.
Ensure cleaning of offices spaces: sweep and mop floors, dust furniture, vacuum carpeting and upholstered furniture.
Clean and disinfect public areas such as lunchrooms and washrooms.
Empty Trash containers and recycling bins.
Periodically wash windows and walls.
Clean walkways, hallways, walls and/or counters in the Production area in accordance with SOP and ACMPR requirements. This includes greenhouses, laboratories and other secured areas.

Qualifications

Experience in industrial and/or commercial cleaning is an asset.

Marketing Compliance Specialist

Overview

The Marketing Compliance Specialist will ensure compliance with Provincial and Federal regulations for advertising and marketing material and strategies developed by the organization. As part of the Regulatory Compliance Team, this role will work closely with the Marketing Team to ensure creative but compliant strategies are moved forward. In addition, this role will also monitor social media platforms for compliance with applicable regulations. This includes but is not limited to:

Provide compliance guidance and support in the development of Company Marketing Materials to ensure the materials are compliant with all applicable and future regulations;
Support the Product Development team as a compliance subject matter expert;
Maintain a working knowledge of laws and regulations applicable to advertising and social media standards;
Conduct ongoing monitoring of advertisements and social media platforms to ensure the company is meeting applicable and future regulations, as well as performance and other requirements as outlined in Company Policies and Procedures;
Identify compliance risks related to marketing and social media. Formulate risk mitigation and/or consumer remediation plans;
Provide compliance related training to applicable business units regarding Marketing and Social Media requirements;
Escalate significant compliance risks to Management as they are identified;
Provide detailed reporting on outstanding Marketing and Social Media concerns, related action plans, and the status of resolution efforts.

Qualifications

Dried Product Personnel

Overview

The Dried Product Personnel must:

Be able to work in a clean and efficient manner.
Be capable of performing repetitive tasks and manual labour.
Work with close attention to detail and care for the product and processes.
Communicate clearly and courteously in a team setting.
Demonstrate problem solving skills.
Be able to keep organized records proficiently using Microsoft Office.
Under the supervision of the Dried Product Processing Team Lead or his/her assigned alternate, the Dried Product Personnel will be responsible for executing the following tasks:

Milling, decarboxylation, and packaging of dried product.
Organizing storage spaces for dried product.
Clean and sanitize all equipment used in processing of dried product.
Keep records of all processes and report these to senior staff members.
In addition to their primary tasks, Dried Product Personnel may aid the Harvest Team or the Oil Processing team as required.

All Dried Product Personnel must understand and follow all regulations, guidelines, and company policies pertaining to safety, security, and handling of product. They must read, understand, and adhere to all standard operating procedures pertaining to the work they have been assigned.

Dried Product Personnel must be able to work effectively with others and understand their role within a team setting. They are expected to communicate with other members of staff in a respectful and civil way.

Dried Product Personnel must be punctual and reliable in their attendance and flexible to work evenings and weekends should production require.

Dried Product Personnel are responsible for keeping clean records of day to day activities. They are to report any problems to the Dried Product Processing Team Lead or his/her assigned alternate as soon as possible; including errors, deviations from SOP, inaccuracies in record keeping, injury, and equipment failures.

Site Supervisor

6 month contract

Overview

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Supervising sub-contractors by locating, monitoring and controlling site access;
Preventing fines and interruptions by complying with, and enforcing, codes. Developing effective communication between field and other project staff;
Receiving and directs shipments and deliveries to the job site;
Maintaining quality control procedures as directed by the site service managers;
Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following and enforcing standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations.

Quality Assurance Specialist

Overview

Reporting to the Director of Product Innovation, the Business Analyst, Innovation will be responsible for supporting the development of new products through internal development, licensing, and acquisition to help build out a suite of products for both the recreational and medical divisions of the organization. This will involve performing research, accumulating data, and building the business case to support each new potential product as it works its way through the innovation process. This position will be instrumental in helping HEXO establish itself as a brands company while building on its existing reputation for innovation.

Main Responsibilities

Supporting the Director of Product Innovation in generating innovative products in line with pre-established organizational objectives set out by the Leadership Team.
Support the build out of our existing product innovation roadmap for both the recreational and medical divisions of the company.
Use existing project management framework to move potential new products through the innovation process and keep all stakeholders engaged throughout the process.
Work closely with Marketing, Operations, Sales, Finance and R&D to qualify new product opportunities through the preparation of a business case supporting decisions.
Maintain internal database of all on-going innovation projects and status along the innovation process.
Help to facilitate the hand off of market ready products to Product Manager for product launch.
Assess trends and changes in the competitive environment to mitigate risks and support position as market leader in innovation products.

Maintenance Manager

Overview

We are currently seeking a Maintenance Manager who will report to the Director, Facilities and Security. The Facilities Manager will oversee our facilities team to ensure the overall upkeep of our installations, maintain production equipment and ensure a safe work environment. This includes, but is not limited to:

Prioritize, dispatch and ensure completion of requests to repair or replace fixtures and/or equipment. The incumbent will be expected to take part in projects such as installing or moving furniture and equipment, drywall repair and painting, minor repairs to heating, cooling, ventilating, plumbing and electrical systems.
Participate in the development of a maintenance schedule and ensure preventative maintenance of equipment such as HVAC systems, production machinery and building components.
Liaise with licensed service providers as required for specific maintenance or installation projects and ensure completion of work in accordance with industry and regulatory standards.
Manage facilities department staff, ensuring that all maintenance and repair work is assigned and completed to meet all applicable standards and regulations.
Conduct workplace inspections to ensure all equipment and workspaces are safe and up to Code, identify and eliminate (whenever possible) Occupational Health and Safety risks.
Oversee grounds keeping, including landscaping (i.e. grass cutting), snow removal and trash removal.
Act as main point of contact for other internal teams, such as those involved in security, cultivation, production and human resources.
Assist with the management of off site locations where applicable.
Manage related budgets and contract negotiations.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate holds a professional diploma in facility management or technical degree pertaining to HVAC systems, mechanical maintenance or other related field, combined with a minimum of 10 years’ relevant experience in an industrial or commercial setting. Basic skills in carpentry, electricity and plumbing are major assets. Forklift certification is also an asset. Candidates must demonstrate strong problem-solving, organizational and leadership skills. Bilingualism is required.

Sales Senior Analyst

Overview

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Planner is responsible of coordinating the planning of production and optimizing production performance with respect to delays, costs, quality, and health and safety. The ideal candidate has 3 years or more experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities:

Plan and coordinate all contract PO (across Canada);
Supports sales VP by issuing various sales analysis, KPIs, budgets to assist the team with business decisions and weekly sales performance reviews from all territories;
Support business development by analyzing sales and inventory forecasts to support and confirm our contracts with customers.
In collaboration with the production team, set up a PULL system to analyze and evaluate the product demand of all our adult sales and medical sales customers;

Overview

We are currently seeking Prepack Specialists who will be responsible for ensuring a good production flow in order to fulfill orders and market demand. The Prepack Specialist functions includes, but is not limited to:

Ensure quality control;
General maintenance of equipment and materials;
Clean and prepare containers for filling;
Load materials and products into package processing equipment;
Stack and pile goods into containers;
Prepare goods for shipment;
Monitor & operate multiple equipment for filling, sealing, capping & labelling;

The ideal candidate holds a minimum of experience working on a production chain. Also, as Packaging Specialist it is your responsibility to maintain productivity so that production goals can be achieved. Must be able to safely and carefully operate and use assigned equipment and machinery. Attention to details. Attendance is key to success. Overtime may be required and/or expected.

Health, Safety and Environment Coordinator

Overview

The HSE Coordinator will be responsible for supporting and facilitating the implementation of environment, health and safety programs designed to assure compliance with corporate and regulatory requirements specific to each of Hexo’s locations.

Integrated Quality Management System in accordance with ISO standards.

Assist in the development, implementation and on-going maintenance of an ISO-compliant Quality Management Program;

Identify existing/potential hazards, suggest elimination/mitigation strategies and, upon approval, implement corrective measures;

Develop and implement specific Workplace Health and Safety Programs;

Promote a culture of safety and prevention: educate employees on workplace/environmental hazards, corporate policies and regulatory requirements;

Liaise with the Corporate Social Responsibility team on environmental priorities, concerns and/or programs;

Provide technical and regulatory expertise to internal teams;

Facilitate/coordinate training of internal teams on policies, procedures or Environmental, Occupational Health and Safety matters;

Investigate workplace accidents/environmental incidents, determine root cause and recommend corrective measures;

Overview

Director of Quality, Health, Safety and Environment

Overview

The Director of QHSE will need to ensure the implementation and the management the compliance, industry relevant safety standards and programs relative to safe work practices in all areas of the business. He/ She will report to the VP of Operations, keeps records of incidents, follows up on corrections, corrective actions and conducts audits in line with Quality, Health and Safety and Environmental standards and other relevant QHSE standards such as GMP and GPP.

Key Responsibilities:

Act as a focal point for QHSE team activities and services, including but not limited to EHS auditing and incident investigation;
Participate in providing QHSE support and services across organization;
Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of QHSE policies, processes, systems and procedures
Foster strategic partnerships with leadership and the front-line to promote a safety-first culture;
Facilitate and/or coordinate interactions with QHSE regulators and external stakeholders and partners in cooperation with operations management

Accountant Payable Clerk

Overview

Reporting to the Controller, the Account Payables Clerk is responsible to work within the framework of the finance team in the processing of all supplier invoices and employee travel claims for payment. In addition, this position will support the Finance and Administration activities including but not limited to:

Roles and Responsibilities

Performs accounts payable duties: charge expenses to accounts, obtain the right approvals for processing invoices, process payments of invoices and employees expenses;
Perform various vendor account reconciliations as required;
Generate financial reports;
Update and maintain accounting journals, ledgers and other records detailing financial business transactions;
Review all invoices for appropriate documentation and approval;
Coding invoices to proper GL accounts and classes (i.e. departments);
Update and maintain vendor databases;
Process 3 way P.O. matching invoices, up to 100 plus line items;

Work closely with the Regional Distribution Centre team to coordinate outbound LTL, TL and expedited shipments of finished goods using approved carriers
Calculate and manage load fills with Shipping to optimize transportation costs
Arrange, direct and track shipments
Identify shipment exceptions and escalate appropriately
Coordinate with carriers for any dispatch anomaly
Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

3 to 5 years of relevant work experience in a transportation/shipping environment
Ability to multitask while sustaining a high level of service expectation
Solid analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong team player
Proven ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and written in French and English

We are currently seeking trades helpers and labourers to assist skilled workers and perform labourer tasks on construction sites.

Trades helpers and labourers perform some or all the following duties:
Load and unload building materials and place them in work areas
Assemble and dismantle concrete forms, scaffolding, access ramps, walkways, shoring and barriers on construction sites
Assist skilled workers, such as carpenters, bricklayers, cement finishers, roofers and glaziers, in the performance of their respective work
Assist heavy equipment operators in securing special fasteners to machinery or by guiding drivers when moving machinery or performing other work
Help align pipes or perform related work during construction
Level the ground according to the specified slope using rakes and shovels
Help to demolish buildings using pry bars or other tools, and sort, clean and stack recovered materials
Remove debris on construction sites using rakes, shovels, wheelbarrows and other equipment
Operate hammers, vibrators and pneumatic rammers as directed
Power machinery or operate the equipment used on construction sites, including heating sources, compressors and pumps or supervise their operation
Clean up chemical and other contaminant spills
Oil and grease machinery and ensure its proper operation
Direct traffic on or near the construction site
Perform other tasks on construction sites as directed

Qualifications

Experience as a construction labourer is preferred
A course in general construction site health and safety (30 hours) is an asset
Strong team player
Proven ability to communicate effectively

We are currently seeking a Packaging Team Leader to supervise the packaging department employees.
Operate packaging equipment, label applicator & filling machine
Ensure that all employees are following safe practices by being proactive in their approach to safety inside and outside of work
Supervise the packaging area employees by directing the activities of the team to provide the best support during each shift
Ensure that the packaging area is operating as efficient as possible at all times in conjunction with changes in the process throughout each shift
Ensure that all packaging area employees are properly trained to operate equipment, keep records, make timely communications, and to complete any other activity occurring in their area to maximize overall operational effectiveness
Ensure that finished product quality, food safety, and overall sanitation procedures and practices are meeting specification or standards
Ensure compliance to company policy, procedures, and processes

Qualifications

Relevant degree, diploma or experience in manufacturing processes
Experience with plant floor supervision, quality assurance, and safety
Equivalent education and proven experience in a related position will be considered
Good leadership, organizational, and decision-making abilities
Ability to develop and maintain respectful working relationships with all levels within the organization
Experience in continuous improvement in operational processes

Overview

We are seeking a Recruiter to work with our Human Resources team on talent acquisitions for Belleville. The Recruiter is responsible for sourcing, assessing and recruiting top candidates into the organization across multiple departments and at various levels. He/she is also a key participant in the on-boarding process.

Work with internal teams to determine current and future staffing requirements;
Draft job postings in French and in English;
Research and identify candidate sources: job boards, job fairs, local employment services, etc.;
Advise and work with Managers throughout the recruitment process: shortlist resumes, conduct interviews, perform reference checks, draft contracts and coordinate signatures, etc.;
Liaise with other services, such as Payroll and IT, to ensure proper on-boarding;
Maintain talent pipeline for future staffing requirements;
Assist the human resources team is other projects, as required.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate holds a degree in Human Resources Management or other related field, with a minimum of 5 year’s experience in recruitment.
CHRP designation is an asset.
